Health Support Services offers prefabricated shoe inserts and custom molded shoe inserts.
Most patients can be accommodated with the prefabricated type.
Medicare requires that the least expensive item be utilized that can provide appropriate therapy.
Prefabricated, heat-mold-able inserts:
Custom Inserts
Custom inserts are manufactured using state-of the art 3D scanning technology. Secure archives of your digital fitting images make reordering inserts easy and extremely accurate. We offer two different versions of Medicare compliant custom inserts, the “Basic” is more budget minded; the “Best” offers superior support and accommodation. Prosthetic fillers are also available to accommodate partial foot amputations.
“Basic” Custom Molded Diabetic Insert – EVA Shell
The “Basic” custom molded orthotic device is made with a plastazote top cover and firm EVA base that maintains contact with the patient’s arch for the life of the insert. It is indicated for patients weighing less that 200lbs. The insert is ground to the correct thickness to properly fit the shoe with which it is ordered. The orthotic can incorporate plantar accommodations at no additional cost to provide added pressure relief when required.
“Best” Custom Molded Diabetic Insert– EVA Arch Fill
The “Best” custom molded EVA insert is comprised of a soft plastazote cushioned layer, a firm EVA base with arch fill and suede top and bottom covers. It is indicated for patients weighing more than 200lbs and those requiring increased support. The “Best” custom molded EVA insert is fabricated with sufficient arch fill to provide total contact.
